Will there be a way in the future to be certain it is on or off? If I turn it on remotely, then someone turns it off at the house, will I continue to see it as on via the app?

Yes that would be really helpful to see current status.

Sync with original remote is not yet fully supported - we're working on adding it, users will be the first to get the update!

What about your "we included sensors that will rely on vibrations of the AC." You can check if it's on or off with the vibration sensor.

When do you think you will be able to sync between the remote and the App? I want to continue using the AC remote, since my kids don't have the app. I just placed a Home Kit order and I rather cancel the order until syncing is working.

Jose - we have a partial solution for now, still in beta but works pretty well to the brave and curious that have experimented with it so far! You can read about it here: https://sensibo.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/207019019-Can-Sensibo-detect-whether-the-AC-was-turned-on-off-via-the-original-remote-
If you have additional questions, we'd be happy to help via the support channel (support@sensibo.com)

Hello, just installed my Sensibo but disappointed that it does not support detecting if the Aircon unit is on or off. Without realtime information, the system is just a glorified replacement remote control for the ones that came with the units. This feature is important to have. Thank you.

agree. detecting whether the AC is on/off but also syncing that information reliably on the remote app is absolutely must. it is impossible to know for sure that the AC is turned on/off for eg when you are out of home. I would also claim that the buttons and color codes on the app are not clear enough. It is not possible to know from the app where ON/OFF means "This is TURNED ON/OFF" or whether this means "IT IS ON/OFF press to Switch". That makes it impossible to use out of home and can generate actually even higher bills if you turn on when it is actually already OFF

Link in the update from Alex is broken.  :(

@Ouriel - agree, the color scheme on the app makes it difficult to know if the AC is on or off.
